Roger Robinson





Coach Roger (Fernandez) Robinson was a prep standout at Apple Valley High School. As a senior, he rushed for 1,250 yards and 21 touchdowns despite playing in only 8 games due to an injury. He was an All Mojave River League & All San Bernardino County Selection, and was recruited by the University of New Mexico, University of Nevada Las Vegas, and Utah State University. He concluded his prep career as the Mojave River League 100 and 200 meter champion, and was named the Daily Press' "Area Sprinter of the Year" in his senior year.

With numerous college offers, Coach Robinson accepted a full ride football scholarship to Utah State University where he began his collegiate career. As a red-shirt freshman, he established a school record for most kick off return yardage in a season with 774 yards. Some of his other college highlights included a 64 yard punt return touchdown against Pac 12 opponent Utah, and a 25 yard rushing touchdown against Big 12 opponent Iowa.

Coach Robinson transferred to Northern Arizona University (NAU) following his sophomore year where he was a 2 time All Big Sky Conference selction as a running back. Despite only playibng 2 seasons at NAU, he finished 7th on the NAU career rushing list with 2,015 yards and ten 100 yard rushing games. As a senior, he led the Big Sky Conference in all purpose yardage with 1,711 yards. As a college senior, Coach Robinson was named the team's Offensive Most Valuable Player after leading the team in all purpose yards, rushing yards and recptions. He was also a member of the 2003 Big Conference Championship team.

In 2005, Sporting News Magazine listed Coach Robinson as one of the fastest running backs available in the 2005 NFL draft after he recorded a 4.36 forty yard dash. He was signed as a rookie free agent by the Arizona Cardinals in April of 2005. After being released in training camp, he was re-signed by the Cardinals at the end of the 2006 season, and allocated to NFL Europe. Coach Robinson was drafted by the Frankfurt Galaxy where he became a team captain of the 2006 World Bowl Champions. As a member of the Galaxy, he broke the NFL Europe single season rushing record with 1,087 yards despite missing a game due to injury, and also broke the record for 100 yard rushing games in a season with seven. Coach Robinson was named first team all NFL Europe as a running back, and spent the 2006 NFL season on injured reserve with the Arizona Cardinals after sustaining a serious foot injury. As a professional, he has had workouts with the Carolina Panthers and Green Bay Packers.

Coach Robinson's coaching experience included camps and clinics for both Northern Arizona University and the Arizona Cardinals. In 2016, he served as the Offensive Coordinator for the AV Rebels' Pee Wee team, who finished their season with a 10-1 record. He is married to his best friend, Ashley Robinson, and has 2 beautiful girls (Layla and Sydney). His brother, Rueben Robinson played linebacker at Oregon State University.
